Common questions

How quickly can we get set up? +
Most companies are fully set up within an hour. You register your company, get your company code, and employees download SafeTrace - Travel Safety and join using that code. No IT department required.
What happens if an employee triggers SOS? +
The security team receives an instant push notification and email alert with the employee's exact GPS location, and the live dashboard shows the active SOS alert. The team can communicate directly with the employee through the app, and once the situation is under control, mark the alert as resolved on the dashboard.
Does it work without an internet connection? +
The app requires an internet connection to send SOS alerts and check-ins. We recommend employees use local SIM cards or international data plans when travelling.
Is SafeTrace GDPR compliant? +
Yes. SafeTrace is fully GDPR compliant. Location data is only collected when employees actively check in, trigger an SOS, or activate Track Me. All data is stored on EU servers. Admins can permanently delete individual employee data at any time through the Employee Management panel on the dashboard.
Can employees see each other's locations? +
No. Only company administrators and security teams with dashboard access can see employee locations. Employees can only see their own status and receive broadcasts from their admin team.
Can I cancel at any time? +
Yes. There are no long-term contracts. You can cancel your subscription at any time and you will continue to have access until the end of your current billing period.
What happens if an employee doesn't respond to a welfare check? +
SafeTrace automatically escalates. The employee receives up to three reminder notifications. If there is still no response after 20 minutes, the administrator receives an alert advising them to contact the employee directly. Enterprise customers benefit from this automated escalation as standard.
What happens when our trial ends? +
You will receive a reminder email 7 days before your trial ends. Once the trial expires, employee access is suspended until a paid plan is activated. Your data is retained for 30 days, giving you time to upgrade without losing anything.
Can we have multiple administrators? +
Yes. You can invite additional administrators to your dashboard at any time. Multiple admins can monitor employees, respond to SOS alerts and send broadcasts simultaneously — ideal for larger security and HR teams.
Which countries does SafeTrace work in? +
SafeTrace works in any country where your employees have an internet connection. The app functions globally — whether employees are travelling to Europe, Asia, the Americas or beyond. FCDO travel warnings are automatically displayed for countries with active advisories, keeping your team informed before and during travel.
Does SafeTrace work on Android? +
The SafeTrace app is currently available on iOS. Android support is in development and will be available soon. The admin dashboard works on any device through a web browser.
